Dr. Julie Servaites joined Veterinary Alternatives in July of 2011. She earned her Degree in Veterinary Medicine from Atlantic Veterinary College, Prince Edward Island, Canada in 2008. Dr. Julie received her Certification in Veterinary Acupuncture through the Chi Institute in 2011 and completed a Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine from CIVT (College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies) in 2014. She is also a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner through The University of Tennessee. Dr. Julie has a strong interest in treating patients with chronic diseases including orthopedic and neurological conditions, as well as internal medicine with the use of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and Canine Rehab. Outside of the office, Dr. Julie enjoys spending time with her four legged family members: Iris her black shepherd mix and Oliver her Saddle-bred horse.
Cathy Derrico, B.S., M.S., V.A., is a native to Dayton and has been active in the veterinary industry for over a decade. She graduated from Ohio University with her bachelor's degree in zoology (1991), and her master's degree in microbiology (1995). She started working as a veterinary assistant in 2008, and has furthered her career into canine physical rehabilitation. She has been the underwater treadmill manager and operator since 2015. She enjoys using her science background in helping her animal patients with their rehabilitation, their recovery and to improve their overall health. Cathy enjoys walking her black lab Wally, eating ice cream, and spending time with her family.
